Our Learning Communities rely on a team of dedicated and engaged upper-year students to act as Peer Mentors. As a Peer Mentor, you will interact directly with first-year students, design and facilitate bi-weekly sessions for students, collaborate with your peers, staff and faculty as well as build a sense of community among your first-year students.
Each Learning Community is guided by a Peer Mentor and Assistant Peer Mentor with the support of a Faculty Advisor, Staff Advisor and Senior Peer Mentor.
In joining the Learning Communities Peer Mentor team, you will be encouraged to think about your individual goals and the skills you would like to develop through peer mentorship. You will undertake training and workshops in your year as a Peer Mentor to learn about the different styles of student learning, plan and design student learning programs, facilitate student learning, form professional relationships, create an inclusive community and develop clear communication strategies.
Applications for the Peer Mentor team will be available on UofT’s Career Learning Network in early February.
